All Guilds Meeting - December 2013

Portrait de Doobes

2013 is drawing to a close and so has another All Guilds Meeting!  As always, here are the raw and cleansed chatlogs for you to enjoy.

Here's what went on for the final AGM of the year:

Guild of Linguists

KathAveara and Korov'ev were first up for the GoL.  Their D'ni Language Lessons continue, but they will now be done by appointment instead of at a set time.  If you'd like to set up a time for a session, PM them directly in-game or on the MOUL forums.

Mister Magic

Mister Magic was up next to talk about a couple of things.  First was about classes that have been organized to learn how to use the various bots in the cavern.  These are every second Friday each month at 13:00 KI time in the "Magic Ae'gura".  Second was The Fabulous Magical Treasure (FMT), which is a role-playing game in the cavern utilizing magic, bots and marker games.  More info can be found at their forums or on the MOUL forums.

Heritage Night

Jamie Marchant, who has taken over duties as host of Heritage Night from DimensionTravelerCalum, mentioned the current planned schedule.  Their next meeting will be Sunday, December 15th at 13:00 KI time, with future meetings one Saturday a month at the same KI time.  Keep up-to-date at the HN site.

The Cleft and Below

Esto Centura came up next to update everyone on TCaB.  Volume 1 is nearly complete and the team is hard at work on their next major story arc.  The live version of their story will also happen this month at some point.  Check the TCaB site to see when they update with a time and place!

Guild of Writers

Hoikas took the stage to bring a bit of Gehn Shard news.  With the update after the upcoming one (Gehn.19), they (as well as The Open Cave at some point) will be dropping Windows XP support, as Microsoft is doing the same next year.  After that, only Windows Vista, 7 or 8.1, Macs (with Wineskin) and Linux will work with the shard.  Improvements to the client with Gehn.18 include an optimized and more pleasant game launching experience.  Future fixes include repairing international characters and those pesky Eder Gira baskets.  Gehn.18 will released just in time for the holidays on December 23rd, and if you'd like to see a Livestream of just how painstaking it is to update a shard, let the guild know on their forums!

Jalak Spectacular/Beanie Fest 2013

Kaaja was next to update everyone on the Jalak Spectacular, a live 3D slideshow of creations made using Jalak's various shapes, which will feature music from the Cavern Choir for the background.  The date and time for that are sometime this month and will be announced on the MOUL forums.  She also mentioned Beanie Fest, something that was done last year with great success.  Avatars can wear the beanie clothing item to show their support, and they are planning on making an "avatar Christmas tree" for fun.  They estimate they'll need about 25 avatars or so to make it happen.  Beanie Fest will officially run from December 14th to December 20th.

Guild of Messengers

Doobes brought up the ones in yellow.  First, they welcomed Korov'ev as the latest addition to the Guild and their newest Italian translator.  They then reiterated their need for help with URU2U and that they're still taking submissions for game reviews through The Cavern Post, and that the online magazine would be getting some new articles posted soon.

International Hood

Max made mention of a series of puzzles he's posting on the MOUL forums.  The first puzzle is already out, with more to come soon!

The Wonders of D'ni

Samoth was next to update everyone on his project, The Wonders of D'ni.  The English AND Dutch translations are available for everyone to enjoy!

Open-Source Christmas Party Hop

The Guilds of Writers, Messengers and New Greeters, as well as Mystler from The Open Cave, were last to talk about an upcoming series of parties: The Open-Source Christmas Party Hop!  Each Saturday from the 14th to the 28th, one shard will be hosting a holiday party and showing off the fruits of open-source.  The Guild of New Greeters will also be at the TOC and MOULa parties (with a tentative yes for Gehn shard) to lend a hand!  For a guide to each party and the shards where they will be hosted, refer to this helpful graphic (note that TOC will be having their party on their MOUL shard):

And that's all for this month!  CAVCON finished out last month at 3.0.  Keep those donations coming.

See you in 2014!
